What is essential today, and what remains at the margins?
With its tenth volume, L’Essenziale Studio enters a new chapter of editorial exploration. Titled FRINGE, the issue reflects on the shifting boundaries of contemporary culture, questioning established categories and reconsidering what it means to be essential in an increasingly interconnected world.
Moving across contemporary art, design and, for the first time, music, FRINGE brings together emerging and established voices whose practices challenge conventions and open up alternative perspectives. Through conversations, essays, visual narratives and experimental approaches, the issue explores the unexpected, the unconventional and the territories where disciplines intersect.
Rather than understanding the margins as spaces of exclusion, FRINGE approaches them as sites of possibility, where new languages, identities and forms of expression can emerge.
An invitation to look beyond familiar boundaries, reconsider where the centre lies and explore new ways of understanding the present.
The print edition makes its debut at Artissima, Turin, from 30 October to 1 November 2026, before becoming available at selected stockists from November.
